Footings! The dirt has feet! August 29, 2013

Drove by today. Our project manager was on site and our footings have been laid. There is a lot of gravel and dirt laying around and at this point things are moving quickly for a few days.Once they pour cement we will have to wait for it to cure before moving on from there.

Excavation has begun! August 28, 2013

Excavation has finally begun. 10 years ago I never imagined being so overjoyed about dirt! We still have a long process ahead of us. As you can see from the background there are multiple homes being built all at the same time and all at different points of construction. We are hoping for good weather to speed the process along.

PS: A shooting star tonight! Things bode well for the days to come!

Pre- Construction Meeting August 22, 2013

Our per-construction meeting went well and lasted a little around 3 hours. We should be able to move in by Christmas (earlier depending on the weather and how smoothly the build goes.). The Build Manager was very nice and answered all of our questions. and the building should start this coming week!

News! August 11, 2013

I just got home from a weekend camping trip to find my email from our Ryan Homes rep. We made an appointment for the next Thursday ( the 22nd) for our pre-construction meeting and we will finally break ground on Monday the 26th. We are of course very excited and I will be sure to post many more pictures once we get started.

Still waiting, August 8, 2013

I haven't forgotten my blog. I have read so many Ryan Homes blogs and am comforted knowing this waiting is normal. I keep busy by dreaming of how I will furnish and paint the rooms. I have had so many ideas and inspirations, my idea books are packed. Meanwhile I wish I had more news, but "No news is good news" and we are still waiting...and waiting.. and waiting.. and ( you guessed it!) waiting!
